Twitter killed the blogging star

"In my mind and in my car, we can't rewind we've gone too far . . ."

Ok, maybe not blogging star, but 10+ year old respected blog, possibly?

Just to clarify

A message from The Screaming Penguin:

I know a lot of people don't realize that this blog is generally open to almost anyone who wants to sign up and post. Occasionally you will see a commercial message for a little while before someone deletes it. That is the way we roll. If you want to plug your FLOSS related stuff, just don't paste your press release and we will generally be cool -- even if it is not written by you and your username is sharonpr (see the post a couple below this one). The ToS/policy file is pretty clear on this.

Without expressing any opinion, I just want to note that Working Man's post on his DWI on weed post is not from Charlie Collins, or myself (Robert Cooper). His post is interesting and worthy of discussion.

The only reason I make this qualifier is because I have gotten several emails from people thinking this was my personal post, and it was not. I don't know about Charlie (and any other regular Penguin posters), just speaking for myself. I just want to make clear: read the byline. This is not a one (or two) person blog. That said, we welcome discussion on almost any topic as long as it is interesting.

Catch me on Twitter

I don't post as often at TotSP as I should. This is partly because I am just busy as heck, and partly because now much of the conversation seems to have moved from blogs, IM, and so on, to Twitter.

If anyone is interested, you can catch me on Twitter as CharlieCollins.

Several of the other common penguinistas from over the years are on Twitter too:

TotSP "phorum" no longer exists

All of the articles and comments that have been on TotSP since 1998 are still here, but our previous "phorum" comments section is long gone.

Please try to search for whatever it is you are looking for on the site search, and you should quickly be able to find the same content.

TotSP gets openID

Tagged:

So now the penguin supports openID, in case you hadn't noticed (under the regular login is an openID option).

If you use it, let me know how it flies. I have been using it with claimID as my provider, and it works well. Somebody try an aol ID or such and report back, s'il vous plait.

I was going to roll a Drupal plugin for openID, but since it already exists (http://drupal.org/project/openid), and works, it's all good.
