Early reviews
The early GWT in Practice reviews seem to be positive. There is only one at Amazon but a few other sites have noted it, and I have seen thread posts in several different groups now where other people say they really like it too. In all the initial word on the street seems to be good.

GWT in Practice completed! (and funny Amazon association)

It took us a lot longer than we anticipated, and the timing is not great (with GWT 1.5 just around the corner), but GWT in Practice is finally done-done, and it is with the printer. Should be available in paperback, as an actual book (rather than just eBook form, which it has been available as for some time) any day now.

Woot and stuff - we did it, Cooper and I wrote a book.

Fortunately even with GWT 1.5 imminent I think this book will still stand on it's own - it addresses a lot of concepts and patterns that go beyond the syntax of any particular version of GWT, so it will still be valuable even to those using 1.5.

Anyway, the real reason for this post is that a friend noticed something funny on the Amazon page, those who bought this book also bought . . . . wait for it . . . Blade Runner. ;)

Unlocking Android

I have been doing some Android stuff on the side since it first came out, and have participated in the forums and the like. Recently I was asked to contribute to another Manning book:
Unlocking Android - A Developer's Guide.

Details are still sketchy, but I thought I would pimp my own ride a bit by revealing this to the exclusive TotSP club. As soon as more details are available I will post them here.

GWT in Practice - in production (and MEAP with sample code updated)

GWT in Practice is finally well into the production phase. In production doesn't quite mean you can run to your local bookstore and get a copy, but it does mean the presses are rolling and final copy editing is being done as we go - in true word of the year style, W00T!

If you are a MEAP (Manning Early Access Program) subscriber you should have gotten a recent notice about an update, MEAP now finally has all of the latest updated versions of all chapters.
