Not so impressed with Obama thus far

I admit I was a huge Obama fan during the campaign, and definitely voted for him. (You have to also consider the choices though - I didn't want Hilary for example, and McCain, please.) But thus far I am not impressed. There have been a few positives, such as his ethics rules, his approach to science and what I like to call "reality" (the stem cell reversal for instance), but there have also been things such as the the debacle of appointments, and his continuation of Bush policies that are unacceptable. For example - despite the rhetoric: No real FOIA "freedom" Still using state secrets as an excuse Email still missing And, don't get me started on the stimulus. Not a fan. I don't blame the stimulus on Obama though, that was coming down the pike regardless of who was in charge (and a lot of the blame should actually be placed with the administration that got us into the precarious position in the first place). I don't think it's hopeless yet either, the jury is still out. Nevertheless, there are definitely many things going on that I did not expect of an Obama administration (maybe the are just figuring out how to make changes correctly, and the have to push back initially, time will tell).

His speech was good last

His speech was good last night, props for that. Also +1 for the deficit reduction planning. I think he will bring it around, he just has to do so slowly. -100 for the republicans. Bobby Jindal is your pitch man (-95 right there), and then you talk about how irresponsible it is to spend that kind of money? Where was that "fiscal responsibility" when you condoned and even trumpeted the Iraq debacle (now at over $650 billion - at least O is spending it on the US, assholes). One republican I do like though is Jeff Flake (http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=101124704), lets make earmarks AND non relevant amendments just plain illegal, put that in your legislative pipe and smoke it.
