15 minute night sky navigation tutorial

Tagged:
Really amazing tutorial on navigating by the night sky. It works, give it 15 minutes, really. When done you will know exactly where Orion is, where Betelgeuse is, where Polaris is, where Cassiopeia is, and Jupiter. From this info you can of course navigate the really old school way, without your GPS. Many thanks to quitebay.net for this one, great resource.

Quietbay Nightbay site

Anyone know where and if this site has moved? I love this one and can no longer access it. Anyone know if it is somewhere else? Thanks

That's a shame that that is

That's a shame that that is gone. I can't find it now either, and it's not in the google cache, or thereabouts. There might be other similar resources out there, but this one was *great*. I don't know of a way to get it now, or where it might have moved, etc., sorry.

Bummer!

You are right...this one was a great one. I used to let my kids do this in the computer lab before going in a star dome. I was hoping you knew a way to get to it. Thanks for looking into it and let me know if you find it again. Jennifer

I loved that Quietbay tutorial, too ...

Dear Friend, I tried to snatch that cool tutorial at Quietbay, but it vanished before I got to it. Instead, I've had to put together a little something myself. It's not as neat as Quietbay, but I did it all, and I think it will be useful to novices at night sky navigation. You gotta look over the whole "NAVIGATION" page there, to get the idea. Hope to hear from you. I hope my efforts do some good. It took three days. Regards, Bob
