Microsoft's stock may still be on the rise, but mankind has partially escaped Mr. Gates grasp with one small victory: Sidewalk.com has cracked. Thanks to the fierce competition of Ticketmaster Online-CitySearch, MS has decided to sell off the arts and entertainment section of their local content web service. Microsoft did gain a 9% stake in CitySearch in exchange, but we can still hope that MS has rectracted its claw of world domination momentarily. Instead of investing more money in trying to control every aspect of our daily lives, Microsoft will shift funds towards creating enumerable, useless and unusuable features for their next release of the Windows family of desktop operating systems.
