ILM released OpenEXR

Ok, let's face it. None of the 3.5 people who read the penguin are ever going to use this, but it's still cool that Industrial Light and Magic has open sourced the High Dynamic Range image file format for film editing. This is basically an extremely high fidelity image system that can be used to manipulate color and lighting levels. This will get rolled into Film Gimp, FWIW. Anyway, given the SFX industry's adoption of Linux at prodigious rates over the last few years, it's great to see the big players giving back.
