Well, the Dave Matthews Band is the first group to put their music willingly on the new "Legit" Napster. Their Single "I Did It" is now featured on the Napster homepage. Wonder how much this will become a realistic marketing tool for the music biz now--- and whether you will see Lars Ulrich posting his next single as a featured DL. In other MPEG Audio Layer Three news, EMusic.com -- formerly GoodNoise has announced it will be laying off 1/3 of its staff in a restructuring effort. The pay-now-download-now MP3's for sale service had a previous round of layoffs ( 1/5 ) a while back. Somehow these guys who have an incredibly simple business model managed to lose US$ 17M with revenues of US$ 4.6M.
