Your vidPod will not allow content you PURCHASE to be burnt to CD or DVD (not unless you subvert the DRM) - all sorts of "FairPlay" stuff about this on BoingBoing.

“We’re doing for video what we’ve done for music — we’re making it easy and affordable to purchase and download, play on your computer, and take with you on your iPod,� said Apple CEO Steve Jobs.

Jobs explained to attendees of the media event that videos purchased and downloaded from the iTunes Music Store employ Apple's FairPlay Digital Rights Management (DRM) scheme, so they can be downloaded and played on multiple computers authorized to listen to and watch protected iTunes content, or transferred to video-capable iPods. There's one caveat, however -- videos you purchase from iTunes can't be burned to other media such as CD-R or DVD-R discs.

I dont really blame Apple for the DRM stuff, they got it shoved down their throats if they wanted any content back when they began this venture (and the RIAA only allowed the entire Apple "experiment" back when because they thought it wouldnt work). Now the RIAA needs to wake up (along with all other content providers) and realize that they really made a huge blunder and in fact are giving Apple the market because everyones content is Apple only at their own behest (not only that but even simpler they are pissing off their customers rather than providing what they want).
