Fedora name dispute

The new Red Hat community Linux distro, ie Fedora, is now involved in a name dispute with several univerities. It seems the schools Cornell and Virginia began using the name FEDORA for a software project back in 1997 ("flexible extensible digital object repository architecture"). Its not likely to be a huge battle, but its a least a minor roadblock. And Red Hat may choose to choose another name out of courtesy even though the prior university research software groups did not patent the name (uh, yeah, right, we shall see).
