Linux working on the human genome research: NewsForge

Supercomputing has become available to many more institutions because of the capabilities and availability of Linux. A new 2000 node 4000 processor Linux cluster is being used at the University of Buffalo to study the human genome. The hope is of course that with further understanding of the genome we can better treat and or cure disease (such as cancer, alzheimers, parkinsons, ALS, etc).
