Screaming Penguin - Source Does Matter

Sun has decided to use Linux on a new device that will run some applications for field engineers. The device runs embedded Linux and Java. The story on IDG about Suns decision to use Linux is interesting (and the author calling Linux "completely untried for handheld devices" is telling of his lack of knowledge.) After all the "last thing" the Sun manager wanted was "to be a pioneer." Its also interesting that they tried Windows CE and PalmOS (maybe not objectively.)
