The New Screaming Penguin is on the Way: ToTSP 3.0

An entirely new rev of Temple of The Screaming Pengiun is on the way. The new ToTSP 3.0 will be in production very soon. The new site has many changes on the backend and only a few cosmetic differences. Look for a ton on new functionality but only minor look and feel differences. ToTSP 3 includes a lot of new stuff, such as:

  • many new news categories (all of which are now database driven so they can be added, deleted, modified on the fly)
  • a new storycomment system based off of Phorum (with not only storycomments but also several other discussion groups)
  • customizable news sources for your personal ToTSP page (yep, using cookies or login, you will be able to choose from a variety of new sources available on ToTSP)
  • new user tools including user creation and storyadmin tools
  • a new storyarchive system (automatically archives front page stories to selected subcategories)
  • a new admin system (adminsiter users, categories, stories, adds and phorums all from a browser interface)
  • a new ToTSP SEARCH engine (searchs all ToTSP Content, story and headlines)
  • a new MySQL database for driving everything (was msql)
  • new servers and a new Internet connection
